The company is also modifying its update notification process, giving users clearer warnings for mandatory installations.
JKN Global News Desk – Microsoft has initiated a comprehensive overhaul of its Windows security infrastructure, marking the first major change in 15 years, with full implementation expected by the end of April. This initiative focuses on strengthening the root of trust through a new Secure Boot certificate update for Windows devices. Users can now confirm if their PC is Secure Boot-protected, a feature designed to bolster system integrity. Recent updates, such as February’s Patch Tuesday, addressed 59 flaws, including six actively exploited vulnerabilities, further underscoring the company’s commitment to security.
The company is also modifying its Windows update delivery and notification processes. Microsoft will implement changes to Windows Update within 10 days, alongside adding a useful warning system for upcoming mandatory Windows 11 and Windows 10 update installations. Users will gain enhanced control over updates, including the ability to pause Windows updates for up to 35 days, preventing unexpected restarts and providing greater flexibility in managing system maintenance.
Beyond security and management, Microsoft is rolling out new experiences for Windows 11. The November 11, 2025, update for Windows 11 introduces a suite of new features, including advanced AI capabilities and enhancements to the Start menu. Enterprise users will benefit from new Copilot agents and enhanced actions within Microsoft Intune, as announced at Ignite 2025, reflecting a broader integration of artificial intelligence across the Windows ecosystem.
Ongoing maintenance continues with updates like Windows 11 KB5083769, which improves the /scannow command and offers direct download links for offline installers, and Windows 11 KB5065789, released with 41 changes and fixes. Microsoft also released its July 2025 Patch Tuesday updates, ensuring continuous system stability and performance.
