Former two-division UFC champion Daniel Cormier has delivered a series of pointed analyses on the current mixed martial arts landscape, weighing in on title contention, fighter legacies, and the state of American champions. Cormier notably endorsed Carlos Prates for a championship opportunity and declared Alexander Volkanovski the greatest featherweight of all time. He also expressed concern over the declining number of American titleholders and publicly disagreed with UFC President Dana White on Arman Tsarukyan's immediate future.

JKN Global News Desk – Daniel Cormier, a prominent voice in mixed martial arts commentary and analysis, recently shared a broad spectrum of opinions concerning the sport's top athletes and pressing issues. His insights ranged from endorsing specific fighters for title contention to evaluating historical legacies and reflecting on the broader health of American representation in the UFC.

Cormier stated that "nobody would complain" if rising star Carlos Prates secured the next title shot, signaling strong support for the fighter's championship aspirations. He also publicly disagreed with UFC President Dana White regarding the lightweight division's immediate future, asserting that "it still needs to be Arman Tsarukyan" for the next title opportunity. Furthermore, an implied claim by Cormier regarding Islam Makhachev's status as the most dangerous fighter was countered by a coach who maintained that "nobody is more dangerous" than Khabib Nurmagomedov.

On the subject of fighter legacies, Cormier unequivocally named Alexander Volkanovski as "undoubtedly the 'greatest featherweight of all time'." He also voiced a significant concern over the current landscape of American champions in the UFC, lamenting their scarcity and declaring, "We’re going to fix that." Cormier did not shy away from controversy, roasting a commentator as "stupid" for spreading a "UFC-Tom Aspinall split rumor" and reacting to Jon Jones's public criticism of Aspinall. While expressing excitement for the upcoming bout between Nate Diaz and Mike Perry, Cormier tempered expectations, stating there was "no chance" it would surpass the memorable "UFC White House" event.

Reflecting on his own illustrious career, Cormier admitted he "should have retired after [his] Derrick Lewis fight," revealing he felt "so severely limited it was crazy" during that period. He also offered a historical speculation, suggesting that if Fedor Emelianenko had joined the UFC in 2009, he would have been "average at best." Cormier also expressed solidarity with Glover Teixeira's decision-making at UFC 282, stating he "would do the same thing" in Teixeira's position. Recounting his experience of losing an Olympic bronze medal match, Cormier candidly shared his belief that "a couple of these dudes were on steroids."
